Update to club members

Update to club members

Dear ,

(Please disregard the earlier version of this, if you received it.)

There has been recent changes in the club leadership that you need to know about.  This means that the elections scheduled for the next meeting are cancelled, and will be held in December, as always.

The most recent changes in club leadership come from 3 people submitting their resignations:  Dennis Boland as vice president and interim president, plus Dan Norton and Verlynn Clarambeau as Directors.  This means we have a total of 9 positions to fill for the elections:

  • President (Vacant, but temporarily filled by Dennis Boland)
  • Vice President (formerly Dennis Boland)
  • Secretary (formerly Dan Halstrom)
  • Director, Position # 1 (currently held by Jeremy Nogowski, term expires in December 2021)
  • Director, Position # 2 (formerly Verlynn Clarambeau)
  • Director, Position # 3 (currently held by Patrick Sissler, Sisler, term expires in December 2021)
  • Director, Position # 4 (formerly Larry Zalaznik)
  • Director, Position # 8 (currently held by Jeff Stidham, term expires in December 2021)
  • Director, Position # 9 (formerly Dan Norton, but term expires in December 2021)

The next board meeting must formally respond to and accept the most recent resignations by Larry Zalaznik, Verlynn Clarambeau, Dan Norton, and Dennis Boland, as per the Bylaws.  More Candidates must be found to fill the new nine vacancies; we’ve received some interest, but now we need more for nominations in November, and elections in December. January

Further, the Bylaws as written make it difficult to find qualified candidates who have attended at 4 meetings in 2021.  The COVID-19 restrictions seriously impacted our meeting schedule, and there is no flexibility in the Bylaws for that.  Of the people nominated thus far, only 1 is eligible for office under the Bylaws.  So we will also discuss several proposed temporary changes to the Bylaws to avoid this problem.  However, if you are willing to consider serving, you may attend the next 4 meetings to be eligible by having attended 4 meetings in the past year.

In the meantime, range operations continue as normal!  Our volunteers are making sure the events go on.  Indeed, August will be a very busy month!  Aside from the normal events, there will be a First Shots clinics for Pistols, a full First Shots Clinic, and 3 Public Shoot days.  These are published on the calendar if you want dates and times.

The volunteers continue to monitor the weather and farming to close the range as necessary, with the help of members.  We appreciate their dedication and hard work!  But we do need more.  If you are interested in volunteering for events and maintenance, please go to our coordination web site at https://groups.io/g/EERGCvolunteers to sign up!
