Welcome to the East End Rod and Gun Club

The East End Rod and Gun Club was started in July 16, 1947. Started by Harold Otto (pres.), Geo Heller (vp), and Vic Nyrgren (sec/tres). The object was the promotion of the conservation of our natural resources, hunter safety education, the relations between sportsmen and landowner, and shooting sports among the citizens of our community.

Women on Target(r) Sign Up

Please NOTE: No 50 cal BMG (or derivative there of) is to be shot at the East End Rod and Gun club range except for Law Enforcement Officers with prior authorization. Also, full automatic discharge is prohibited!
We are happy to announce that we have signed a lease for the use of the range land along with 2 - 20 year extentions.

Over the next few months we will be working to develop a plan for the use of the property and goals for what we would like to accomplish in the next several years. We would like to encourage everyone to come to the meetings and be an active participant in this decision making process.

In 2005, we were able to get the road and a firing line graveled. In 2006 we installed concrete shooting benches along the firing line, and hope to possibly widen the firing line area so you would still be driving on gravel. We also began Cowboy Town. In 2007 we intend to install target stands for pistol ranges and obtain an ODFW grant for further range improvements. We'll be applying for an OWDF Grant again in 2009.

If there is something else you’d like to see at YOUR East End Rod & Gun Club we invite you to join us at our monthly meetings. This year we have seen a slight increase in attendance at the meetings but a normal meeting only has about 8 – 10 members attending. Those people need your help to facilitate further range growth.

Range Use

We would like to remind everyone to please clean up after yourselves when you are using the range. There have been reports that someone has been shooting glass bottles and obviously that is not something we want to see. It creates a huge mess and a hazard for other people who are using the range. Use the existing target stands to affix your targets and if you bring out plastic bottles or something like that, please clean up the mess and take it home with you. Because we are trying to keep expenses under control we do not have garbage service at the range. We appreciate your “packing it out, if you pack it in.”

** Remember that there is equipment in the “dog” houses spread out on the range and DON’T use those to hang targets off of. **

We continue to ask that if you are going use the range at a time when there is not a regularly scheduled shoot that you MUST call and leave a message indicating you plan to use the range. The NEW number is:

East End Rod & Gun Club Cell Phone:

(509) 876-1965

Please leave a message ANYTIME you plan to

use the range outside of scheduled events!

Or, e-mail Webmaster@EERGunClub.com

The calendar of scheduled events for 2008 is linked above, please refer to that before you go out to the range. If you are at the range when one of these events is taking place, contact the person in charge to see if arrangements can be made for you to shoot. Those events do take precedence but most of the time something can be arranged so you can utilize the range also.

Most importantly, when you are at the range, respect the other shooters who may be out there at the same time. The firing line has been moved forward to facilitate more people using the range at one time. Please don’t set up targets etc that would limit the use of the range by your fellow shooters. The range is for everyone’s use and as our membership grows your chance of being the only person at the range is diminishing.

Remember the tenant at the house is a member of the club and looking out for our interests, remember this if he should come out and ask you about being out there. If you get the opportunity tell them thanks for watching out for things. And finally, be sure and lock the gate when you leave. The gate is precaution against vandalism to our equipment and to protect the belongings of the tenants in the house.

God Bless the USA
